Privacy Policy

Effective 13 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It covers three things: the website fyrlov.com, the STRELKA newsletter, and Strelka Publisher, an internal tool the developer uses to post to his own social media accounts.

The short version: we collect as little as we can, we do not sell anything, and we do not track you around the internet.

Who we are

The controller of your personal data is Denis Fyrlov, an independent game developer based in New Zealand. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Denis Fyrlov. Contact: fyrlov@gmail.com.

The website

  • We do not set cookies. There are no ads, no tracking pixels and no social media widgets that follow you around.
  • If analytics is switched on, we use Umami Cloud. Umami does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. It records page views, the site you came from, your browser, your device type and your country. We only see these as totals. Umami keeps this data for its standard retention period.
  • If a page includes a YouTube video, nothing loads from YouTube until you click it. The video then loads in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and Google's privacy policy applies from that point.
  • Links to Steam take you to Valve's website. Valve's own privacy policy applies there.
  • Fonts and images are served from this site, not from third-party font or image services.
  • Our hosting provider may briefly keep standard server logs (IP address, browser user agent, time of request) for security and to keep the site running. We do not use them to identify you.
  • If you email us, we keep your address and message only as long as we need them to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.

Legal basis for people in the EU and UK: our legitimate interest in running a secure website and knowing which pages people read.

The newsletter

  • We only have your email address if you sign up. It is stored by Kit (ConvertKit), an email service based in the USA.
  • Sign-up uses double opt-in: nothing is sent until you confirm by clicking a link in the first email.
  • Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • We use your address only to send news about STRELKA, such as the Steam page opening or a demo coming out. We do not sell it or share it with anyone.
  • As part of its service, Kit may record basic delivery data, for example whether an email bounced or was opened.

Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.

Strelka Publisher

Strelka Publisher is an internal publishing tool. It is not offered to the public, and only one person uses it: the developer. It posts news, images and videos about STRELKA to his own accounts, and helps him read and reply to comments on them. It is registered as a Meta app (for Facebook and Instagram) and as a Google Cloud project (for YouTube).

What it accesses

  • OAuth access tokens for the developer's own accounts.
  • The IDs of his own Facebook Page, Instagram account and YouTube channel.
  • Content he uploads himself: images, videos and captions.
  • Public comments on his own posts and videos (the commenter's name, the comment text and its time), used only to read and reply to them.

So if you comment on a STRELKA post on Facebook, Instagram or YouTube, your public name, your comment and its time may pass through Strelka Publisher when the developer reads or answers comments. That is the only data about other people the tool handles.

How it is stored

  • Everything is stored on the developer's own computer.
  • It is not sold, not shared, and not used for advertising or profiling.
  • Stored data is refreshed or deleted within 30 days.
  • Access tokens are revoked when they are no longer needed.
  • Strelka Publisher does not place cookies or anything similar on your device.

Legal basis for people in the EU and UK: our legitimate interest in managing our own accounts and answering people who talk to us.

YouTube

Strelka Publisher uses YouTube API Services. YouTube's Terms of Service apply: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms. Google's Privacy Policy describes how Google handles data: http://www.google.com/policies/privacy.

Access granted to Strelka Publisher can be revoked at any time on the Google security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.

Data obtained through YouTube API Services is deleted within 30 days unless it is refreshed, and within 7 days after access is revoked.

Facebook and Instagram

Strelka Publisher connects to Facebook and Instagram through the Meta Platform. Meta's own privacy policy applies on those services: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy.

  • To remove the app from a Facebook account: Settings and privacy > Settings > Apps and websites, then remove Strelka Publisher.
  • To ask us to delete any data we received through Facebook or Instagram, follow the data deletion instructions.

Cookies

We do not set cookies. Sites you click through to (Steam, YouTube, social networks, Kit's confirmation pages) may set their own, under their own policies.

How to delete your data

  • Email fyrlov@gmail.com with the subject "Data deletion".
  • Include the email address, username or account name the data relates to (for example, your newsletter address, or your Facebook, Instagram or YouTube name). You do not have to say why.
  • We delete the data within 7 days and confirm by email.

Step-by-step instructions, including how to remove the app's access yourself, are on the data deletion page.

Your rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. If you are not happy with how we handle your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner: privacy.org.nz.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the GDPR or UK GDPR also gives you the right to access your data, to have it rectified or erased, to object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

To use any of these rights, email fyrlov@gmail.com. We will reply as soon as we can, and within the time the law requires.

Children

STRELKA is an 18+ game. This website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has signed up for the newsletter, write to us and we will delete the address.

International transfers

We are based in New Zealand. Kit stores newsletter data in the USA. Umami Cloud and our hosting provider may process data in the USA or the EU. Where the law requires it, these transfers rely on the safeguards the providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. Questions about privacy go to fyrlov@gmail.com.

The babushkas on the bench do not handle privacy requests, whatever they tell you.
